About Us

Creation

Mercado Mexicano was founded in 2026 by Parker Ogden with the help of his wife Molly. We are a family-run small business that lists products from small art and antiquities shops in the cultural centers of Mexico. We find and sell the art that we love: paintings, pottery, sculpture, antiques, you name it. By connecting you directly to small art shops, you get access to items that would normally cost you a plane ticket and a tour guide. We are a market for Mexican art, connecting you with the locations, the stores, and the story behind the one of a kind pieces you’ll discover.

Origin

Mercado Mexicano began after my dad moved to Cuernavaca in 2025. We kept seeing incredible art in shops that nobody outside of Mexico would ever find — so we built a way to change that. We work directly with local shop owners and list only the most unique and interesting art we come across.

About Us:

Parker Ogden, Founder

My name is Parker. I grew up and currently live in Minneapolis, MN. Starting at age 5 I studied at Emerson Spanish Immersion School, which kicked off a lifelong love of Mexico. I went to school at Beloit College in Wisconsin and currently live in South Minneapolis with my wife Molly and three cats. I have 15 years of experience running my own business and over 20 years in customer service.

Molly Ogden, Artist & Curator
Molly grew up in Minnetonka, MN and is currently an artist.  She went to University of Oregon and has a degree in Art.

Molly is an artist from Minnetonka, Minnesota, who studied art at the University of Oregon. Growing up with a pilot father, she spent her childhood traveling — spending time throughout Latin America — which gave her an early and genuine reverence for the craft and soul embedded in the work of Mexican artists and makers.

She’d seen autoconstrucción for years before it finally landed on our recent trip to Mexico City — the unfinished rooftops, the rebar reaching skyward, homes that are always in the process of becoming. A practice born out of necessity, and one she holds with care. What moved her was recognizing something true in it: that the most meaningful things are built in layers, shaped by the hands and seasons that passed through them.

That sensibility is what she brings to her work with Mercado Mexicano — an eye for objects that carry that same quality. Things made with intention, by people who knew their craft, that hold the mark of where and how they came to be.

Mercado Mexicano is an opportunity for us both to fly head first into a culture and art history that we've barely scratched the surface of.  I'm sure the world doesn’t need another white American exporting Mexican art. Our sales go directly to the stores we partner with we are a bridge to get these unique and inaccessible items to homes that will appreciate them.

We are always available to answer questions, provide recommendations (all Molly), and most importantly, to make sure great art finds people who will love it.
